Hartford, CT, April 15, 2025: Stites & Harbison, PLLC welcomes attorney Nancy Kennedy to the Hartford, Conn., office. Kennedy joins the Intellectual Property & Technology Service Group as a Member (Partner).

Kennedy has extensive experience managing domestic and international trademark, copyright, trade dress, domain name and other internet law matters. Her practice focuses on conducting trademark clearance searches and rendering opinions on availability and registrability; prosecuting applications for registration at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and the U.S. Copyright Office; recording registrations with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Office of Customs and Border Protection and representing clients in disputes before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. She also counsels clients on the strategic use, policing and enforcement of intellectual property.

Prior to joining Stites & Harbison, Kennedy was a Partner with a top 10 U.S. intellectual property law firm and previously served as Managing Partner of a Connecticut IP boutique.

Outside of the firm, Kennedy is active in a variety of organizations. She is a member of the American Bar Association, the International Trademark Association, Intellectual Property Owners Association and the National Association of Women Lawyers. In addition, Kennedy is the Visiting Professor From Practice at her alma mater, the University of Connecticut School of Law, where she has taught intellectual property law for more than a decade. She also volunteers as a court-appointed Animal Advocate Attorney. Kennedy is admitted to practice in Connecticut.
