Substantive Programming. Targeted Reach. Meaningful Commercial Opportunity.
For nearly three decades, IPWatchdog has earned the trust of intellectual property professionals as a leading editorial, educational, and media platform. An IPWatchdog webinar gives companies, law firms, and organizations direct access to that highly targeted community through a focused digital program built around issues that matter to IP professionals.
Whether your objective is to establish thought leadership, engage prospective clients or customers, explore an important legal, business, policy, or technical issue, or introduce a product or solution in an appropriate format, IPWatchdog offers multiple webinar partnership options designed for a sophisticated intellectual property audience.
IPWatchdog webinars average more than 450 registrants. Approximately 55% of registrants attend live, with additional on-demand engagement after the webinar. Even narrowly focused programs frequently attract more than 300 registrants, while programs with broader appeal have generated as many as 1,300 registrants.
The objective is not simply to generate impressions. It is to bring together an audience of IP decision-makers, senior practitioners, in-house counsel, and other professionals who are actively interested in the subject being discussed.
When a partner offers a meaningful next step, such as a free trial, product demonstration, assessment, consultation, white paper, or other follow-up opportunity, IPWatchdog can incorporate that opportunity into the registration and follow-up process. On some programs, 40, 50, 60, 80 or more registrants have affirmatively requested a free trial or other direct follow-up.
IPWatchdog strongly prefers substantive educational programming over product-focused webinars. Our webinar structure and pricing are intentionally designed to encourage substantive industry discussions that provide genuine value to the IPWatchdog audience.
That does not mean partners cannot talk about their organizations, expertise, services, or products when appropriate. It means the webinar format must accurately reflect the purpose and nature of the program.
Service providers that want to establish credibility around an important legal, business, policy, or technical issue can participate through brief Sponsor Framing Remarks that explain who they are, what they do, what challenges they are hearing from the market, and why they selected the topic for discussion.
Sponsor Framing Remarks may establish the problem, market pressure, or industry challenge to be discussed, but may not present the partner’s product as the solution.
First-time webinar partners may begin with a Webinar Pilot, a shortened introductory version of our Curated Substantive Industry Discussion. Like the full Curated program, the Pilot is built around substantive educational content, moderated by Gene Quinn, and does not permit product demonstrations or other product-focused presentations.
Companies that want their own employees to participate substantively outside the limited expert exception described below, present product-focused content, or demonstrate a product can select a Partner-Led Webinar. Companies that want a true product-evaluation environment can add a separate Dedicated Product Demonstration Webinar.
*The pricing below applies to Service Provider webinar partnerships. Law firms and organizations should refer to their respective Partnership Guides for applicable webinar options and pricing.
IPWatchdog no longer offers rolling or incremental discounts throughout the year. Instead, we offer Priority Partnership Pricing to partners who commit to multiple eligible opportunities as part of a single partnership package.
To qualify for Priority Partnership Pricing, all participating opportunities must be committed to at the same time, included in a single Statement of Work or other written agreement, and paid in full in advance.
Priority Partnership Pricing is based on the total value and composition of the combined commitment. It is not applied retroactively to opportunities purchased separately or to additional opportunities added later in the year.
Partners considering multiple webinars, IPWatchdog programs, or other partnership opportunities should discuss the complete package with IPWatchdog before booking individual opportunities so that any available Priority Partnership Pricing can be applied from the outset.
For additional details and applicable package pricing, please refer to the appropriate IPWatchdog Partnership Guide.
Curated Substantive Industry Discussions | $6,000 per webinar
A Curated Substantive Industry Discussion is built around an important legal, business, policy, or technical issue rather than the promotion of a specific product or service.
Gene Quinn moderates the discussion from start to finish, and IPWatchdog assists with identifying and inviting appropriate prospective speakers.
A partner representative may provide brief Sponsor Framing Remarks at the beginning of the webinar and brief concluding remarks at the end. These remarks may identify the company, briefly explain what it does, and establish the business or industry context that led the partner to select the topic.
Sponsor Framing Remarks are not a Product Preview and do not make the company representative a panelist or substantive speaker.
Sponsor Framing Remarks may establish the problem, market pressure, or industry challenge to be discussed, but may not present the partner’s product as the solution.
In limited circumstances, IPWatchdog may approve a partner employee to participate as a substantive speaker when that individual has independent subject-matter credentials and expertise that would qualify the individual to speak on the topic regardless of the individual’s affiliation with the sponsoring company.
No product demonstration, Product Preview, prerecorded product video, sales presentation, or other product-focused presentation is permitted in this format.
Because outside-speaker recruitment is included in this format, a minimum of eight to ten weeks of lead time is required. Speaker participation is never guaranteed.
A Partner-Led Webinar is a service-provider webinar that includes either:
A Partner-Led Webinar may include substantive industry discussion, product-focused content, or a combination of both. The partner secures its speakers and leads the presentation, discussion, demonstration, and Q&A. Gene Quinn introduces the webinar and closes the program but does not moderate or recruit speakers.
Product demonstration content may be live or prerecorded, subject to advance approval. A Product Preview is a clearly disclosed prerecorded product video of no more than five minutes. More extensive product-demonstration content may also be included, but total demonstration content may not exceed 15 minutes.
The 15-minute demonstration limit is an absolute maximum, not an expected duration.
The approved demonstration length and format must be established in advance and may not be expanded after the webinar has been promoted.
A webinar with one sponsoring-company employee may still qualify as a Curated Substantive Industry Discussion when IPWatchdog has specifically approved that individual to participate as an independent subject-matter expert based on credentials and expertise that would qualify the individual to speak on the topic regardless of the individual’s affiliation with the sponsoring company.
If the webinar includes a product demonstration or other product-focused presentation, however, it is a Partner-Led Webinar, regardless of the number of sponsoring-company speakers.
Partners that want a true product-evaluation environment may add a separate 45-minute Dedicated Product Demonstration Webinar for an additional $6,000.
Dedicated Product Demonstration Webinars are ordinarily scheduled at 2:00 PM Monday through Friday, subject to availability. The separate time slot distinguishes commercial product-demonstration programming from IPWatchdog’s regular webinar series, which is generally held at 12:00 PM ET on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
The entire session may be devoted to product demonstration, explanation, and Q&A.
A Dedicated Product Demonstration Webinar can be scheduled in advance as a follow-up to a full-length Curated Substantive Industry Discussion or Partner-Led Webinar and promoted during the associated Curated Substantive Industry Discussion or Partner-Led Webinar, as well as in follow-up communications, giving attendees who want to see the product in greater detail a clear next step.
Dedicated Product Demonstration Webinars cannot be purchased as standalone programs. Gene Quinn does not moderate, and outside-speaker recruitment and CLE are not included.
The Webinar Pilot gives a first-time IPWatchdog webinar partner the opportunity to test the IPWatchdog webinar channel through a shortened, 45-minute version of our Curated Substantive Industry Discussion.
Like the full Curated program, the Pilot is built around an important legal, business, policy, or technical issue rather than the promotion of a particular product or service. Gene Quinn moderates the discussion, and IPWatchdog may assist with identifying and inviting appropriate outside speakers. Partners are also welcome to suggest prospective speakers. Speaker participation is never guaranteed.
A partner representative may provide brief Sponsor Framing Remarks at the beginning of the webinar and brief concluding remarks at the end. In limited circumstances, IPWatchdog may approve a partner employee to participate as a substantive speaker when that individual has independent subject-matter credentials and expertise that would qualify the individual to speak on the topic regardless of the individual’s affiliation with the sponsoring company.
Sponsor Framing Remarks may establish the problem, market pressure, or industry challenge to be discussed, but may not present the partner’s product as the solution.
Product demonstrations, Product Previews, prerecorded product videos, sales presentations, and other product-focused presentations are not permitted in the Webinar Pilot.
The Pilot receives the same coordinated pre-program audience-development effort as a full Curated Substantive Industry Discussion but includes reduced post-program deliverables. IPWatchdog provides contact information for live attendees and basic registration and engagement reporting. The Pilot does not include a post-webinar Spotlight Article or gated archive placement.
The Webinar Pilot is available once per company to organizations that have not previously sponsored an IPWatchdog webinar.
For full Curated Substantive Industry Discussion and Partner-Led Webinar programs, IPWatchdog supports the program through a coordinated campaign that can include promotion on IPWatchdog.com, the IPWatchdog Daily Newsletter, email outreach, targeted invitations, the IPWatchdog Events Calendar, LinkedIn promotion, registration and engagement data, post-webinar follow-up, a Spotlight Article, and gated on-demand viewing.
The Webinar Pilot receives the same coordinated pre-program audience-development effort as a full Curated Substantive Industry Discussion, while providing a more limited set of data and post-program deliverables. Dedicated Product Demonstration Webinar deliverables are defined separately.
The result is not merely a live webinar. It is an ongoing content, audience-development, and lead-generation campaign.
CLE may be available for qualifying substantive educational webinar formats for an additional $1,250 per webinar. CLE is not available for Dedicated Product Demonstration Webinars and is generally unavailable for Partner-Led programs containing product-focused content or demonstrations.
A signed webinar agreement is required before planning begins, speakers are contacted, or a webinar date is reserved. Once the agreement has been received, IPWatchdog works with the partner to develop the program, establish registration questions and follow-up opportunities where appropriate, and create the production timeline.
