So, you want to talk about patents all day? Great news: so do we.
Patent Bots is a SaaS company built by patent attorneys, for patent attorneys. Our tools help IP professionals at some of the world’s top firms and corporations work smarter, from drafting and prosecution to examiner analytics and prior art research. We’re a small team with a big footprint in the IP world, and we’re looking for a Product Specialist to be the human face of our product for attorneys who are already knocking on our door.
What You’ll Actually Do:
Patent attorneys and IP professionals will come to you curious, evaluating, or mid-trial, and your job is to turn that curiosity into confidence. You’ll run demos, answer hard product questions, and help prospects figure out whether Patent Bots is the right fit for their practice. (Spoiler: it usually is.)
- Walk prospects through live demos of tools like Prep & Pros Pro, PatentPlex, and Examiner Statistics
- Field inbound inquiries from attorneys who’ve raised their hand and want to learn more
- Guide users through trials and free features, nurturing them toward a paid plan
- Speak the language of patent prosecution fluently: claim drafting, office actions, examiner tendencies, art units, docketing, deadlines
- Capture feedback from prospects and relay it to the product team
Who You Are:
- You have at least 3-5 years of hands-on experience in the patent department of a law firm, whether as a paralegal, docketing specialist, patent administrator, or similar role
- You understand the day-to-day reality of patent prosecution because you’ve lived it
- You get genuinely excited explaining how software makes hard things easier
- You’re comfortable talking to attorneys who are smart, direct, and have high standards
- You don’t need a script to have a good conversation
- You’re organized enough to manage a pipeline, but human enough to build real rapport
- Patent knowledge is required; everything else we’ll teach you
What We Offer:
- Compensation: $80,000 – $130,000 base salary (based on location and years of hands-on patent firm experience) plus performance bonuses and stock options.
- Benefits: Health, dental, and vision insurance, 401k with matching, and paid time off
- Remote-First Culture: Work from anywhere with a lean, low-bureaucracy team
- A Product That Sells Itself: A tool people actually love using, with high customer renewal rates because it works
- Real Impact: Direct access to the founder and product decisions that matter
- Meaningful Work: The satisfaction of helping patent professionals do their best work, minus the law firm burnout
A Note From Us:
We’re a small company, which means this role matters. You won’t be just another billing code in a big firm’s back office. You’ll be a key part of how Patent Bots grows. If you’ve ever wanted a role where your insider knowledge of patent practice and your genuine enthusiasm for great tools do the heavy lifting, this is it.
Patent Bots is an equal opportunity employer. We believe diverse perspectives make better products, especially in a field as specialized as intellectual property.
Interested Candidates:
Interested candidates are asked to submit their resume and cover letter via email to the CEO, Jeffrey O’Neill.
