Notable Intellectual Property Lawyer Lisa Hillman Joins Lathrop GPM LLP

Hillman Brings Two Decades of IP Law, Patent and Technical Experience in Life Sciences, Biotechnology and Health Care Industries to Lathrop GPM’s Clients.

Boston, March 27, 2023: Lathrop GPM LLP is pleased to share that Lisa Hillman, Ph.D., has joined the firm’s Intellectual Property Practice Group as a partner. Hillman, former patent law counsel at an Am Law 10 firm, brings over 20 years of IP experience to the firm’s Boston office.

With more than two decades of experience in intellectual property law, Hillman’s practice encompasses domestic and foreign patent procurement. She also provides strategic patent counseling including patent portfolio management, patent validity opinions, infringement opinions, freedom-to-operate opinions, and due diligence reviews.

Hillman has broad technical experience in the areas of molecular biology, microbiology, fermentation technologies, human gene therapy, human and veterinary diagnostics, proteomics, siRNA technologies, antibody technologies, CRISPR technologies, CAR T-cell technologies, liposomes, biosensors, bioinformatics, personalized medicine, tissue scaffolds, agriculture, orthobiologics, medical devices, immunotherapy, pharmaceuticals, and food processing technologies. She represents small and large biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and diagnostic companies, as well as university clients and startups.

Hillman earned her J.D. from the University of Florida College of Law, her Ph.D. in Food Science and Human Nutrition with an emphasis in Molecular Biology and Food Microbiology from the University of Florida, and her B.S. in Microbiology & Public Health and Cellular Biology from the University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh. She has served as Vice Chair of Women in Bio’s Boston chapter since 2019 and has been named an Illinois Super Lawyers™ Rising Star.
