Erin Wills is Senior Principal IP Counsel at Medtronic. Previously Erin was Director of IP with Urbix, Inc, a U.S. based developer of battery grade graphite processing technology serving the green energy storage sector. In this role, Erin advises the business on IP management and enforcement strategies and oversees IP licensing and training activities. Prior to Urbix, Inc., Erin served as IP counsel for the consumer products division of a large, $13B company in the cordless power tool and floorcare industries. She also has extensive law firm experience, where her practice focused on patent drafting, prosecution, clearance, and counseling for mechanical and electrical technologies. Prior to attending law school, Erin served as an engineer for technology companies in the nuclear and semiconductor industries.
Erin received a Bachelor of Science degree in Materials Science and Engineering from North Carolina State University, a Master of Materials Science and Engineering degree from the University of Virginia, and a Juris Doctor degree from North Carolina Central University. Erin has also served as Board and Committee members for several professional IP
organizations.
