Tilman Müller

Dr. Tilman Müller is a Partner and attorney-at-law with Bardehle Pagenberg, where he not only specializes in patent infringement proceedings and parallel nullity proceedings before the national courts, but has also been active before the Unified Patent Court since day one. The focus of his work is the representation of patent pools and the enforcement of standard-essential patents as well as all associated antitrust issues. Tilman is not only familiar with various standardized technologies – including video and audio coding, telecommunications, wireless charging and lighting – but also has in-depth knowledge of the commercial and legal framework for patent pools and licensing.

Tilman Müller is known in particular for representing Access Advance and Via Licensing as well as the patent holders of these two pools in extensive infringement and validity proceedings. For many years he has worked for Philips in a wide range of technology areas, in particular in complex cross-border SEP-related disputes.

In addition, Tilman Müller has extensive experience in creating license programs and corresponding contracts and enforcing them before arbitral tribunals. In this context, he also accompanied and designed the creation of several international standardization organizations in the field of lighting.

Tilman Müller is familiar with various technologies and advises clients from many sectors such as electrical engineering and electronics, consumer electronics, medical technology, lighting and chemicals.
