Nigel Swycher

Nigel Swycher is Professor in Practice with Durham Law School, teaching the Business of IP. Over 30 years, Nigel’s career has spanned law and business. For over 20 years, Nigel led the intellectual property practice at leading London firm Slaughter and May and subsequently Olswang (now CMS). In 2013, he co-founded and was CEO of Cipher, the market-leading AI patent analytics platform, which was acquired by LexisNexis in 2023. Nigel has, for many years, been recognized by the IAM 300 as a leader in the field of IP strategy.
