Jillian Mertsch

Jillian Mertsch is a Senior Director for Government Affairs at Qualcomm. In this role, she supports and provides strategic guidance on global intellectual property and standards policy. She has nearly 20 years of experience as a corporate affairs professional in telecommunications and technology sectors. The majority of her career has focussed on government relations but she has also worked in corporate strategy, global sales operations, external communications and analyst relations. This summer she relocated from Brussels – where she focused on intellectual property and competition policy – to San Diego.

Ms. Mertsch worked at BT and InterDigital before joining Qualcomm in 2020. Over the course of her career, she has been based in Washington, DC; London; and Brussels. Ms. Mertsch has a Bachelor of Science Degree from Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois and is based in San Diego, California.
