Elisabeth Sussex

Elisabeth (Liz) Sussex, Chief IP Counsel, Los Alamos National Laboratory, is a highly experienced Intellectual Property professional who specializes in IP strategic planning, implementation, and management; worldwide patent prosecution strategies; licensing; and legal enterprise project management. Ms. Sussex is a licensed patent attorney with a demonstrated history of excellence with multinationals, start-up entities, firms, higher education institutions, and national laboratories.  Prior to attending law school, she practiced computer science for more than a decade, including large enterprise strategic design and implementation as well as troubleshooting and issue resolution.  She earned her J.D. at Wayne State University and Franklin Pierce Law Center, and her B.S. in Computer Science at Wayne State University. She is admitted to practice before the USPTO and to the State Bars of California and Michigan. She is also a Certified Licensing Professional through the Licensing Executives Society International.
