Alejandro Castro – Managing Partner at Union Andina
Alejandro is the Managing Partner of the firm, specializing in Industrial and Intellectual Property, Advertising, Privacy, and Consumer Protection law. He holds a Master of Laws (LLM) in Intellectual Property from the University of New Hampshire – Franklin Pierce School of Law.
With over 10 years of experience, Alejandro provides strategic legal counsel on the protection of trademarks, patents, and plant varieties in Peru. He leads complex projects involving the registration and international protection of trademarks for both local and multinational clients across Latin America, Europe, Asia, and North America.
Union Andina Intellectual Property represents leading clients such as KTM of Austria, a renowned manufacturer in the motorcycle industry, and Grupo Xcaret of Mexico, a major player in the hospitality and tourism sector. His portfolio includes internationally recognized companies such as a leading German antivirus software provider, a British royal-certified mattress manufacturer, the world’s largest beer manufacturer, Russia’s top e-commerce platform, and a publicly listed Finnish retailer.
Rick excels in managing large and complex trademark portfolios, including handling nearly 300 Chinese trademarks for a German antivirus company and almost 500 Chinese trademarks for a French food producer. His expertise spans brand protection and development strategies.
