Muhammed Yakup Altun

IP Attorney

Muhammed Yakup Altun is a dual-qualified attorney in California and Turkey, specializing in intellectual property law and business law. He earned his LL.M. in Transnational Business Practice from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, where he focused on international IP law, copyright law, and trademark law. He also holds an LL.B. from Yalova University, Turkey.

He previously served as an associate attorney at NewPoint Law Group, LLP, in the Sacramento area. In that role, his work included drafting and negotiating business contracts, representing clients in IP matters, advising on corporate governance, and litigating business disputes. Earlier, he founded Altun Law and Consulting in Istanbul, Turkey, where he represented clients in trademark prosecution, litigation, and commercial disputes.

His academic contributions include multiple research projects and papers on comparative IP law. Yakup has also been actively involved in the legal community, serving for both Istanbul Bar Association and ABA. Fluent in Turkish and English, Yakup brings a global perspective to his practice.
