ASHBURN, VA — April 13, 2026 — IPWatchdog, Inc., a leading source of news, analysis, and events in the intellectual property industry, today announced key leadership promotions reflecting the company’s continued growth and evolution.
Renée C. Quinn has been named President, Katarzyna Kryca has been promoted to Senior Vice President, and Morgan Connell has been promoted to Director of Programs and Strategic Partnerships. Founder Gene Quinn will continue to serve as Chief Executive Officer.
These promotions recognize the significant contributions each has made to IPWatchdog’s expansion as a premier platform for intellectual property professionals, including its widely attended events, educational programming, and digital media presence.
Strengthening Leadership for the Next Phase of Growth
As President, Renée C. Quinn will oversee all aspects of operations, strategy, and growth, reflecting the expansive role she has played in building the company over nearly two decades. Since joining in 2006, she has been a driving force behind IPWatchdog’s evolution from a niche publication into a leading platform within the intellectual property community, overseeing operations, finance, revenue generation, partnerships, and the development and execution of its flagship events and educational programs. Widely regarded as the operational and strategic backbone of the organization, Renée has been instrumental in shaping IPWatchdog’s brand, scaling its business model, and positioning it as a trusted resource for industry leaders, practitioners, and policymakers.
“This promotion really reflects how the company has been operating for years and is long overdue,” said Gene Quinn. “Renée’s leadership extends well beyond operations. While I focus on external-facing initiatives such as content, programs, and strategic vision, she oversees the core business functions of the company, including finance and HR, and is instrumental in driving our growth and strategic direction. The President title recognizes the scope and impact of the role she already plays every day.”
Katarzyna Kryca, now Senior Vice President, has been instrumental in building and scaling IPWatchdog’s webinars, events, and internal operations. Since joining in 2020 and advancing to Vice President of Operations, she has taken on an increasingly broad leadership role across the company, helping to drive execution, coordination, and overall organizational effectiveness.
“Kasia is more than a Vice President of Operations,” said Gene Quinn. “Her contributions to the company cut across all areas. She is really the ‘Vice President of Everything,’ so promoting her to Senior Vice President just makes perfect sense.”
Morgan Connell, promoted to Director of Programs and Strategic Partnerships, has quickly advanced since joining the company in 2024. In her expanded role, she will focus on developing strategic relationships and enhancing program growth, building on her experience in business development within the intellectual property sector.
“When Morgan joined the team in 2024, we brought her on to help support and grow our programs,” said Gene Quinn, “She has exceeded those expectations in every respect. Her contributions have extended well beyond her initial role, particularly in program development and strategic partnerships, making this promotion a natural reflection of both her impact and her continued importance to our growth.”
Executive and Editorial Leadership Continuity
Gene Quinn, founder of IPWatchdog, will continue as Chief Executive Officer, focusing on the company’s long-term strategic vision, thought leadership, content creation, and engaging with the broader IP community. Since founding IPWatchdog in 1999, he has grown the organization into one of the most recognized voices in intellectual property worldwide. Eileen McDermott will continue in her role as Editor in Chief, where she will maintain editorial leadership of IPWatchdog.com, the backbone of the company and everything we do.
A Reflection of Growth and Commitment
“These promotions reflect not only the individual accomplishments of Renée, Kasia, and Morgan, but also our commitment to investing in the future of IPWatchdog,” said Gene Quinn. “As we continue to grow, their leadership will be critical to expanding our impact across the intellectual property community.”
