Steven Geiszler is US Chief IP Counsel for Huawei, based in the Dallas office of its US subsidiary, Futurewei Technologies. He leads a team of more than a dozen IP professionals handling patent prosecution, licensing, litigation and sales, as well as other intellectual property matters.

Before joining Huawei, Steven practiced for 15 years at international law firms in Dallas (Jones Day, Gibson Dunn, and Dentons), handling complex patent litigation in venues including the Eastern District of Texas, District of Delaware, and U.S. International Trade Commission.  Steven has appeared as counsel of record for defendants and plaintiffs in more than 150 patent cases and, since joining Huawei, has managed more than 70 matters, including FRAND licensing disputes.  Steven has received recognition from Chambers USA and Best Lawyers in America, and has been quoted in publications such as Managing IP, IAM, and Corporate Counsel.

Steven graduated from Baylor University and the University of Virginia School of Law.  Before law school, he spent three years as a biomedical researcher.  Drawing on that experience, Steven is a proponent of “big data” in the legal profession and lectures at Baylor Law School on the use of data analytics for litigation management.
