Leveque Intellectual Property Law, P.C. is Seeking a Patent / Intellectual Property Attorney

Leveque Intellectual Property Law, P.C., one of America’s oldest continuously-operated patent practices founded and operated by a woman patent attorney, is seeking dynamic and entrepreneurial attorneys excited about helping us grow!

We seek a registered U.S. patent attorney, preferably with a proven track record in patenting software, artificial intelligence (AI), convolutional network, medical devices, and other electrical technologies. Ideal candidates will have at least 10 years of recent experience in all aspects of utility and design patent drafting and prosecution practice; managing international patent prosecution of patent portfolios; analyzing and summarizing patent searches, drafting legal opinions, including patentability, validity, infringement and freedom-to-operate. The ideal candidate will also have recent experience providing IP clients with trademark, trade secret and copyrights guidance as well as drafting transactional and licensing agreements. Attention to detail and the ability to manage a docket, meet deadlines, work as part of an inclusive and close-knit team, and work independently are all minimum requirements.

This is a hybrid position with flexible hours. The ideal candidate will be available to work in our office in downtown Frederick, Maryland as needed. Full-time and part-time positions are available.

Duties Include:

• Preparing and prosecuting patent and trademark applications to USPTO including drafting patent documents, drafting responses to office actions, and examiner interviews
• Developing and implementing strategy related to US and worldwide patent, trademark, copyright, trade secret, and other IP protections
• Other intellectual property matters as needed

Qualifications Required:

• J.D. from an accredited school with licensure in good standing
• Registered and in good standing to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office
• 10 years of recent experience in all aspects of utility and design patent drafting and prosecution practice
• Other patent, trademark, trade secret, or copyright related work, including trademark and patent search reviews and analysis, licensing transactions, freedom-to-operate, infringement and validity analyses, and risk evaluation and mitigation strategies
