In this event, the ITIF will investigate how the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s CHIPS Program Office can work with state and local governments to get the most out of the bill. ITIF President Robert D. Atkinson will moderate the panel which includes representatives from the Arizona and Texas state governments.

The panel will cover how women have created successful ventures that have made significant and lasting impacts. Recent advances in artificial intelligence and the Department of Energy’s role in ensuring United States competitiveness and security in emerging technologies

In 2019, the Department of Energy established the Artificial Intelligence Office to become the central government body responsible for the burgeoning technology. Four years later, AI is seemingly ever-present with governments, corporations, and individuals increasingly becoming familiar with the technology. Against this backdrop, this senate committee is holding this hearing to evaluate the U.S. government’s role in developing AI and other emergent technologies. Opening remarks will be made by Senators Joe Manchin (D-WV) and John Barrasso (R-WY).
