Mobile Business Tools for Apple iPad, iPhone & iPod, Pt. 2

In early September of 2010, I was given my new favorite toy, an Apple iPad, as a gift.  I originally used the iPad to read books, play games and to surf the Internet.  However, I have discovered that the iPad is a fantastic business tool as well. Whenever I am away from my office, I take my iPad with me.  With the right applications, the iPad has virtually replaced my laptop. In two recent articles, Mobile Business Tools – Social Media Apps for the Apple iPad, iPhone & iPod and On the Go Business Apps – Mobile Business Tools for Apple iPad, iPhone & iPod, I discussed some of the many applications available to help make the iPad an essential tool.  Following are three additional Apps that you can use to turn your portable Apple device, into your most valuable business investment.


Analytics App – Created By Inblosam LLC, Available for USD $6.99

The Analytics Application can be found in the Productivity Category.  The current version, which is 1.8.1 was updated on Nov 02, 2010 and requires 1.6 MB of space on your portable electronic device.  This application works on WiFi, 3G or Edge and is available in English, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Japanese and Spanish.

This application has an average customer rating of rating of 3.5 out of 5 stars and is rated 4+, which means it contains no objectionable material.  This app is compatible with the iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. Like most apps, it requires iOS 3.0 or later.  Keep in mind however that in order to use this application, you must have or will need to create a Google Analytics account that is free to create.  In addition, a Google Adwords account will only work if Analytics has been activated also.

With this application you have the ability to create up to 55 reports, with customizable date ranges including “Today” and “Yesterday” reports.  Each report is capable of showing up to 100 rows of data and they claim that this app has more reports and data than any other Analytics app.  In most of the reports available on the app, you also have the ability to view multiple metrics.

What I like most about this application is its ability to support multiple logins and multiple accounts through a secure connection directly to Google.  This is important for those who wish to keep their website secure but especially important to those with multiple blogs/websites.

Keeper® Password & Data Vault – Created By Callpod Inc., Free Application

The Keeper® Password & Data Vault application can be found in the Utilities category.  The Current version is 4.6 which was last updated on December 21, 2010 requires 8.6 MB of space on your portable electronic device.  The application is available in English, Chinese, French, German, Greek, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese and Spanish.

This application has an average customer rating of 3 out of 5 stars and is rated 4+, which means it contains no objectionable material.  This app is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. Requires iOS 3.0 or later but has also been tested with iOS 4.0.  Currently more than 4 million users are said to be using this app.

This application is a secure personal data management app that you can use on your mobile device to manage and protect your vital information.  With this app, you have the ability to enter Unlimited Records, including Online IDs and Passwords, Contacts, Credit Card numbers, Bank Accounts, Health/Home/Auto/Life Insurance information and more.

Keeper® has been equipped with military-grade 128-bit AES Encryption and identity verification technology and offers a self-destruct capability to protect your information if your phone is lost or stolen. The program allows you to conduct dynamic searches instantly, manage your information using custom folders, create and store high-security passwords using a Password Generator and personalize your Keeper® application with custom themes.

The Print n Share for Advanced Printing application can be found in the Productivity category.

The current version is 4.3.2, which was last updated on January 5, 2011, requires 9.0 MB of space on your portable device.  The application comes in English, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese and Spanish

The application has an average rating of 4+ out of 5 stars and is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. It requires iOS 3.0 or later and has been iOS 4.0 tested.

This application allows you to print to all types of printers, including the Apple AirPrint, giving you the ability to print direct to most WiFi and Wireless printers without extra software.  However, free print server software is required to use USB & Bluetooth printers.  Documents can be printed using either MAC or PC, allowing you to use your iPad/iPhone/iPod touch to view, store & print email, documents, files, attachments, photos, contacts and web pages in any type of format including doc, docx, rtf, xls, xlsx, txt, html, pdf, pages, numbers and others.

With this application you can also print using all of the same document formats to print to all printers used by your PC Calendar view and print options, however, to do so, an in-app upgrade is required to add the calendar for additional $1.99.  With this feature you can print or view your calendar in day week or month format and you can email your calendar views as a PDF attachment.  You do not need a new calendar because you can utilize existing calendar entries with Print n Share.

For an additional $0.99, this application also has a built in, fully featured, advanced email app that allows you to email files, photos, web pages and formatted messages. Not only can you print emails and attachments but the application offers the ability to perform a full email field search, even across multiple email accounts.  You can use this app’s email feature to send and receive emails from your own email accounts, view multiple email accounts in single inbox or on their own, have multiple email signatures with images, save emails and attachments as files, attach multiple files and images to new emails, format text and insert images/contact info into emails, spell check using a multi-language spell checker with word suggestions and view queued, sent and received emails using almost all available email formats.

My iPad goes everywhere I go.  I no longer need to carry a purse AND a laptop bag because my iPad fits right into my purse; yes, even my smaller ones.  There are currently more than 50,000 apps available for download.  That coupled with the way Apple categorizes the apps, it is needless to say a daunting tasks to find the right apps for you.  I will continue this series with additional Apple application reviews for you, but welcome anyone to email me using my contact form on the bottom of my about page with applications that you have used on your Apple or other portable device, that you would like me to include in my series.

    Would be good to include the standard business apps as well. (Microsoft office style) as most of us are looking for a way to work on the airplane now that they tray is smaller than our laptops and when guy in front of you kicks back for a nap you can’t even open the screen enough to see it. :0)
