Kate Johnson is an Associate in Womble Bond Dickinson’s Patent Prosecution & Litigation group, where she helps clients protect their intellectual property rights. Kate assists clients with patent, trademark and trade secret litigation, trademark portfolio management, licensing, global NDAs, start-ups, international trade, global compliance, drafting documents, and research. She is a co-author of WBD’s Georgia IP Litigation Blog.

Prior to entering law school, Kate owned an American barbecue restaurant in Zhengzhou, China, and worked in consulting, where she focused on Sino-Western business relationships and challenges.

A little over halfway through 2023, and nearing the end of the Patent Trial and Appeal Board’s (PTAB’s) fiscal year, we can take stock of an administrative body that is settling into a decade of precedent while big changes still loom.
