Arvind Jairam is a senior counsel at McKool Smith PC. With over fifteen years of patent law experience, beginning as a patent agent prior to entering law school, Arvind has worked in all areas of patent law, including prosecution, litigation, post-grant proceedings, appeals, and licensing.  Arvind has worked on numerous high profile patent infringement cases and is among the most active IPR practitioners. He is a member of McKool Smith’s PTAB team, which was ranked #1 by IAM for patent owner work based on win rate in 2022. He leverages his extensive experience in both patent prosecution and patent litigation to achieve successful outcomes in IPR proceedings. Arvind has been recognized as a “Legal Lion” by Law360 and is among Best Lawyers’ “Ones to Watch” for 2023.

Arvind earned his law degree with honors from the George Washington University Law School. He worked as a patent agent throughout law school. Before law school, Arvind earned undergraduate degrees in mathematical sciences, computer science, and electrical and computer engineering, all with University honors from Carnegie Mellon University, and a master’s degree in electrical and computer engineering also from Carnegie Mellon. He worked as an engineer at MIT Lincoln Laboratory for seven years on various projects involving signal processing for missile defense radars, speech and natural language processing, artificial intelligence, and communication systems. Arvind also earned a master’s degree in business administration and management.
