The goal of this panel is to discuss methods and mechanics for resolving patent disputes in the most cost effective manner from the perspective of patent owners.

Among other things, this panel will discuss:

• Do you talk first or just sue for patent infringement? Or does it depend on the parties and relationship, and why?
• How do you communicate to the other side to break through the emotional, philosophical and ideological opposition in order to send the right signals and not to be inappropriately labeled “a patent troll”?
• What would make patent resolution better and more efficient?
• Do patent owners need to work up the case and survive through the escalation phase to get to the point where settlement is feasible and the parties are finally ready?
