Brainstorming a Better Patent System: A Roundtable Discussion

After the conclusion of Building the Next Patent System: A Blueprint for U.S. Innovation, we will hold an off-the-record conversation following Chatham House Rules. This free-flowing conversation is available to all speakers and attendees.

Since it seems increasingly inevitable that all pending bills and regulations are unlikely to advance, perhaps it is time to stop trying to fit any particular solution into what may be an achievable vehicle in the short-term and instead focus on what should be. Untethered to any pending proposal or draft legislation, if we were to embark upon a 1952 moment, what should we do? What changes should be made to create an improved, world-class patent system?

The goal of this roundtable session is to kick off a longer term conversation that will hopefully result in a series of recommendations.
