How does one create a culture of creativity to spur innovation while deciding what innovations need protecting, and how do you combat the ever-growing threat of counterfeits and patent infringement? These and many other questions dominate the day-to-day substantive decision making for intellectual property professionals in the C-Suite, but there are many other issues that arise as well. The Chief IP Counsel must run a department with employees that are often in different jurisdictions and from different cultural backgrounds and generations. What issues are these leaders focusing on today, with the pandemic hopefully in the rearview mirror but with growing concerns about a recession, inflation and the need to trim budgets?
