Promoting Progress: The Economics of Innovation, Creativity and Intellectual Property *
Investments and transactions move ideas through the lifecycles of innovation and creativity from concept to commercialization. This panel will discuss the role of intellectual property rights in enabling capital allocation at critical moments in the lifecycle, as well as in fostering the network of stakeholder relationships that collectively form innovative and creative ecosystems. The panel will also discuss the role of language in setting the debate, and how the debate over whether intellectual property fosters innovation is often lost from the outset when the linguistic high ground is conceded.
