How does one create a culture of creativity to spur innovation while deciding what innovations need protecting, and how do you combat the ever-growing threat of counterfeits, knockoffs, and IP infringement? How do you convey actionable information to the Board, and other C-Suite executives? How do you squeeze the most out of a budget to ensure you get what you want, and what you need? These and many other questions dominate the day-to-day substantive decision making for executive IP professionals, but there are many other issues that arise as well. This roundtable discussion will focus on the day-to-day issues facing top IP counsel in a variety of different industries, with particular focus on those matters that really keep IP executives awake at night worrying about.

Among other things, the panel will discuss:

  • Challenges that employee mobility and cultural transparency present, particularly with respect to protecting and preserving trade secrets.
  • Properly onboarding employees and ongoing training with an eye toward confidentiality.
  • The ongoing problems with counterfeits and knockoffs, and associated safety and brand concerns.
  • Problems and concerns associated with using Artificial Intelligence tools.
  • What should AI policies include to be as good as possible while still having a policy that employees will actually follow.
  • KPIs for loss avoidance, is it measurable and how do you communicate to the C-suite.
