Boult Wade Tennant Opens Berlin Office

Boult Wade Tennant is delighted to announce the opening of the Berlin office. The new office location will further strengthen the firm’s presence in Europe with their Madrid office  having opened last year.

The centrally located office is on one of the most famous avenues in Berlin and is headed up by partner Michael C. Maier. Michael is a German Solicitor (“Rechtsanwalt”) with significant expertise in developing strategic initiatives addressing complex IP issues with a focus on trade mark law, design law, copyright, unfair competition, etc.

Michael has a broad expertise in trade mark litigation, managing worldwide trade mark portfolios and handling prosecution, opposition and cancellation matters, including appeal procedures before the German Patent and Trademark Office and the European Union Intellectual Property Office. He regularly represents German and international clients in legal disputes before German courts as well as the General Court and the Court of Justice of the European Union.

Before joining Boult Wade Tennant, Michael practiced IP law for several years at an internationally renowned IP firm in Paris (being admitted to the French Bar) as well as at a highly reputed IP firm in Berlin. Furthermore, in the role of an Associate General Counsel and General Manager, he led the trade mark department of one the world’s largest beauty companies being responsible for all luxury trade mark and design-related matters globally. Being an acknowledged expert in the field of trade mark law, Michael is regularly invited as a speaker and to hold seminars by professional organizations.
