Susanne Goodson

Susanne Goodson, Ph.D., J.D., is an Executive Director, Patent Counsel at Incyte Corporation, a leading biopharmaceutical company based in Wilmington, Delaware. In her role at Incyte Corporation, Dr. Goodson has helped guide the company’s intellectual property strategy on commercial products, including legal advice on patent, copyright, and trademark issues. She has extensive experience in negotiating license and collaboration agreements, conducting due diligence, and advising on regulatory matters such as patent term extensions, Orange Book listings, use codes, and pediatric exclusivity.

Prior to her role at Incyte, Dr. Goodson worked in private practice as patent attorney, including as a principal at Fish & Richardson. She was instrumental in drafting and prosecuting patent applications and advising clients on patentability, freedom to operate, and intellectual property strategy. She previously earned her Ph.D. from the University of California at Berkeley and her J.D. from Temple University. She also worked for seven years in various roles, including as a chemical research scientist and as an assistant professor of chemistry.
